Nandua High School made its mark at the VHSL Class 2A State Wrestling Championships, with junior Dylan Padgett capturing the state title and fellow junior Arnold Destine finishing as the state runner-up in their respective weight classes. The tournament was postponed a week due to last week’s snow storm.
Padgett dominated the 120 pound bracket. His victory cements his status as one of Virginia’s top wrestlers and marks a milestone achievement in his high school career.
Destine also had an impressive tournament run in the 126 pound category, battling through a tough field to claim second place in the state.

With both wrestlers returning for their senior year, Nandua’s wrestling program is poised for even greater success in the coming season.
