The Eastern Shore District started it’s first golf match of the season on Tuesday August 13th at Captain Cove golf course. Nandua and Chincoteague are the lone teams on the Shore competing at the moment.
Nandua won the first match of the season by a team score of 186. Low medalist of the day was Toryn Ibarra, from Nandua, and Kyler Vasquenza, from Nandua, with scores of 44 in nine holes. Nandua also had scores of 49 by Grayson Ford and David Hughes.
Chincoteague had a team score of 232. Beyce Luck and Landon Easton had the lowest score for Chincoteague with a score of 54 each. Micah Bennicoff had a score of 59 and Corey Saulsbury had a score of 65 for the Ponies.
Nandua and Chincoteague will be in action again today at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club in Melfa. The teams will play 9 holes again and start the match at 2pm.
