The district golf teams competed Thursday at Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club, with Nandua High School capturing the team victory with a score of 370. Northampton finished second with a total of 429, while Chincoteague placed third at 392.
Nandua’s Toryn Ibarra led the way and earned District Match Medalist honors after shooting an impressive 73. Ibarra’s steady play set the tone for the Warriors, who also got strong contributions from Matt Taylor (96), Trevor Turlington (99), and Alex Bundick(102).
Northampton was paced by Walter Ramnah (107) and Alex Vaca (107), while Chincoteague’s top scorer was Bryce Luck (85), followed closely by Micah Benninoff (96) and Owen Bloxom (103).
With the win, Nandua wins the district title. The Warriors return to action on Monday as they host Worcester Prep at ESYCC.
