
The Nandua Warriors Swim Team traveled to Delaware on Tuesday night to compete against Milford High School and Sussex Central High School. The results from the tri-meet were as follows: the Girls’ team won with a score of 50 against Sussex Central and 76 against Milford Central, while the Boys’ team won with a score of 64 against Sussex Central and 66 against Milford Central.
First-place finishers for the Girls included Sarah Bentley in the 100-yard butterfly, who also earned a state-qualifying time and set a new Nandua record. Chloe Bacchi took first in the 50-yard freestyle. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Jordan Penland, Chloe Bacchi, Morgan Johnson, and Sarah Bentley, placed first.
For the Boys, Camden Lewis claimed first place in both the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, setting state-qualifying times and new Nandua records. Austin Wert finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, also earning state-qualifying times. Lucas Calvetti placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a state-qualifying time.
The 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relays, made up of Lucas Calvetti, Camden Lewis, Zac Smith, and Austin Wert, earned state-qualifying times, adding to the team’s success at the meet.
