Nandua swim competes in tri-meet

The Nandua swim team traveled to the Pocomoke YMCA on Tuesday afternoon for a tri-meet against Sussex Central of Delaware and Stephen Decatur of Maryland. The girls team split their matchups, finishing 1–1, while the boys went 0–2.

For the girls, Nandua defeated Sussex Central 93–27 before falling to Stephen Decatur 159–106. On the boys’ side, Nandua narrowly lost to Sussex Central 81–75 and then to Stephen Decatur 144–75.

Nandua recorded several first-place finishes. On the girls’ team, top spots came in the 200-yard medley relay (Maddy Askew, Chloe Bacchi, Sadie Reiter, and Sarah Bentley), the 200-yard individual medley (Chloe Bacchi), the 100-yard freestyle (Sarah Bentley), the 500-yard freestyle (Ashlyn Ebenezer), and the 200-yard freestyle relay (Bacchi, Emmalee Blake, Kelly Brockmeier, and Bentley). Additional first-place results included Askew in the 100-yard backstroke, Bentley in the 100-yard breaststroke, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Ebenezer, Askew, Campbell Bays, and Reiter.

For the boys, Orion Loredo led the Warriors with wins in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events. The team of Hayden Williams, Lucas Elliott, Lucas Stodghill, and Loredo also captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
