
The Nandua Warriors pulled out an overtime thriller Friday night in the Eastern Shore’s first district football game of the season.
With the game tied 20–20 heading into overtime, Nandua got the ball first. Elijah Parker punched in his second rushing touchdown of the night from the 10-yard line. Under the new overtime rules, Arcadia then took over at the Nandua 10 but threw an interception on 3rd and goal, sealing a 26–20 Warrior victory.
Juelz Snead was named the Bojangles Player of the Game, finishing with 11 carries for 150 yards and a touchdown. Parker also had a strong performance with 8 carries for 73 yards and two scores.
For Arcadia, Djasley Lucas carried the ball 17 times for 114 yards. His brother, Djas, had 13 carries for 24 yards and also threw a touchdown pass to Brian White Jr.
The Warriors improve to 2–5 on the season and will travel to West Point next Friday. The Firebirds fall to 2–5 and will host Northampton next Friday at 6:00 p.m. That game will be broadcast live on 103.3 FM WESR.
The Northampton Yellow Jackets defeated Snow Hill Friday night 49-34. The Jackets are now 7-1 for the season.
Today the Chincoteague Ponies will host Coventry Christian at 11AM and at 3 PM the Broadwater Vikings will take on Rappahannock County, which will be broadcast live on 103.3 FM WESR.
