Three local teams squared off Tuesday afternoon at Captain’s Cove Golf Course, with Chincoteague, Northampton, and Nandua competing in a tri-match.
Nandua took home the win with a team score of 181, edging out Chincoteague, who also finished at 197, on a scorecard playoff. Northampton finished third with a team total of 211.
Nandua was paced by consistent play from David Hughes (46), Toryn Ibarra (46), Grayson Ford (46), and Matt Taylor (45), giving the Warriors a balanced scoring lineup.
For Chincoteague, Bryce Luck led the Ponies with a round of 45, while Owen Bloxom added a 46, Corey Saulsbury shot 52, and Clayton Luck carded a 55.
Northampton’s top scorer was Hayden Seay with a 48, followed by Alex Vaca (50), Walter Ramnick (57), and Riley Carpenter (56).
The three teams will compete again on Thursday at Bay Creek hosted by Northampton.
