Monday night sports update

Softball

The Broadwater Lady Vikings softball team traveled to Norfolk Christian on Monday and came away with a dominant 17–1 victory. Ramsey Revelle started on the mound and earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out six batters.

Offensively, the Lady Vikings tallied 13 hits. Revelle also led at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Elana Hickman went 3-for-4 as well, with a double and five RBIs. Tatum Watson and Miranda Smith each added two hits.

With the win, the Lady Vikings improve to 4–1 on the season and will return to action Tuesday as they travel to Atlantic Shores.

The Northampton Lady Yellow Jackets hosted Lancaster on Monday and fell by a score of 25–3. Hailey Dinwiddie got the start on the mound and was charged with the loss.

The Yellow Jackets collected four hits in the game. Nitrice Lewis, NaRiah Benoit, Makiah Upshur, and Ryleigh Caison each had one hit.

Northampton drops to 0–3 on the season and will return to action Thursday as they host Bruton.

Baseball

The Arcadia Firebirds traveled to Isle of Wight Academy on Monday and lost a close game, 5–4. Dalton Barnes started on the mound and did not factor into the decision, giving up three unearned runs on one hit while striking out eight. BJ White came on in relief and took the loss, pitching 3 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on one hit while striking out four.

Arcadia recorded five hits in the game. Zach Giddens went 2-for-4, while BJ White, Dalton Barnes, and Waylon Watson each had one hit.

The Firebirds fall to 1–2 on the season and will return to action Wednesday when they host Randolph-Henry.

The Northampton Yellow Jackets hosted Lancaster on Monday and lost 12–7. Brock Leland got the start on the mound and took the loss.

The Yellow Jackets had five hits in the game. Trent Ferebee led the offense, going 2-for-4. Jacob Brown, Riley Carpenter, and Hayden Seay each added one hit.

Northampton falls to 1–2 on the season and will return to action Thursday at home against Bruton.
