The Nandua Lady Warriors defended their home court in dominant fashion Monday night, securing a 49-29 victory over the Chincoteague Lady Ponies. With the win, Nandua improves to 8-10 on the season, while Chincoteague falls to 1-11.
Boys
The Arcadia Firebirds boys basketball team put on an offensive showcase Monday night, defeating the Northampton Yellow Jackets 101-75 on their home court. With the win, the Firebirds improved to 13-6 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 8-11.
On Monday night, the Chincoteague Ponies boys basketball team traveled to Nandua and secured a hard-fought 52-50 victory over the Warriors. The win improves the Ponies record to 6-9, while Nandua falls to 6-13 on the season. The Chincoteague’s defense stepped up in the final minutes, making key stops to hold off a late Nandua rally. Clutch free throws and disciplined play down the stretch proved to be the difference as the Ponies escaped with the narrow win.
The Broadwater Vikings delivered a strong home-court performance Monday night, defeating Gateway Christian 57-38. The win improves the Vikings record to 5-12 on the season as they look to build momentum in the final stretch.
