Lady Vikings win in extra innings

Softball

The Broadwater Lady Vikings softball team traveled to Isle of Wight on Wednesday afternoon and secured a 3-2 victory in extra innings.

Ramsey Revelle earned the win on the mound and also delivered the game-winning RBI. She pitched eight innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits, while striking out four batters. The Lady Vikings collected five hits in the game.

Adrianna Holloway led the offense with two hits, including a double. Miranda Smith added another double, while Tatum Watson showcased her power with a triple.

The Lady Vikings improve to 2-0 on the season and will return to action on March 26 at Chincoteague.

Baseball

The Broadwater Vikings baseball team returned to action on Wednesday, hosting Norfolk Christian. The Vikings fell 11-1.

Izid Tountas got the start on the mound and took the loss, pitching 3 2/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on three hits, striking out four, and walking four.

Offensively, the Vikings struggled, managing just three hits in the game. Cohen Kellam, Izad Tountas, and Tanner Wivell each recorded one hit.

The Vikings drop to 1-1 on the season and will look to bounce back on Thursday when they travel to Isle of Wight.
