Virginia Tech and Cincinnati will square off in the Military Bowl in Annapolis, Md. on Dec. 31, a rematch of the 2014 Military Bowl that the Hokies won by a 33-17 margin.
Tech has extended the nation’s longest active bowl streak to 26 consecutive seasons, a mark that ranks as the third-longest in college football history.
The Hokies registered a wild 34-31 OT victory over UVA (11/23) to set up a 41-20 win over Marshall (12/1) that propelled Tech to bowl eligibility.
The Hokies have compiled a 25-14 record in three seasons under head coach Justin Fuente, meaning only Clemson (38) and Miami (26) have registered more overall victories among ACC schools since Fuente’s arrival.
Cincinnati enters the Military Bowl boasting a 10-2 mark under head coach Luke Fickell. The Bearcats posted a 56-6 win vs. East Carolina (11/23) in their last contest.
