The Eastern Shore of Virginia will be featured in an hourlong episode of “Gone Again with Carter Andrews,” airing Monday, July 20, on the Outdoor Channel.

Filmed over five days in October 2025, the episode follows Andrews across the lower and middle Eastern Shore, highlighting the region’s fishing, food, history, natural resources and coastal communities.

Viewers will see Andrews head out of Cape Charles Harbor at sunrise with Tyler Nonn of Tidewater Charters. The episode also includes visits to the Wachapreague Inn, Wachapreague General Store, Sting-Ray’s and the Exmore Diner.

The crew traveled from Wachapreague to Cape Charles and visited the shellfish beds at Shooting Point Oyster Company, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the Barrier Islands Center. Andrews also flew by floatplane from Cape Charles to Chatham Vineyards on Church Creek with pilot Sam Riggs of Coastal Seaplanes.

“This episode is an outdoorsman’s love letter to the Eastern Shore,” said Megan Lawson, Director of Destination Development for the Eastern Shore of Virginia Tourism Commission. “After multiple visits here, the Eastern Shore has become one of his favorite places to visit and fish.”

Wachapreague served as the production crew’s home base during filming.

“The Town of Wachapreague was proud to be selected as home base for Carter and his crew,” said Town Councilwoman Aileen Joeckel. “To be able to show off another community of the Eastern Shore through the eyes of a world sportsman was an incredible opportunity.”

The episode marks the Eastern Shore’s fourth appearance on one of Andrews’ television programs. His previous show, “The Obsession of Carter Andrews,” featured three 30-minute episodes filmed primarily with Nonn in the Chesapeake Bay and nearby creeks. The new 60-minute format allowed Andrews to explore more of Accomack and Northampton counties.

A free community viewing party will be held Friday, July 31, at Wachapreague Town Park. The event begins at 6 p.m., with the screening scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Wachapreague General Store and Lilliston’s Seafood truck. No tickets are required.
