
The All-District Teams for Eastern Shore Spring Sports have been announced.
In boys soccer, Nandua senior Kevin Tinoco was named District Player of the Year after one of the Shore’s most productive offensive seasons. Tinoco scored 16 goals and added four assists while averaging 1.6 goals per match and finishing with 34 total points.
Tinoco headlined a strong group of Nandua first-team selections that also included Daniel Rodriguez, Carl Fils-Aime, Antonio Martino, Gyan Baiju, Liam Aigner and goalkeeper Luis Riveria. Rodriguez led the Warriors with four assists, while Fils-Aime and Martino each scored four goals and finished with eight points during the season.
Northampton placed six players on the first team and featured two of the district’s most productive offensive players. Luke Jones scored 26 goals and added 12 assists, while Sebastian Mayorga contributed 18 goals and 16 assists. Fernando Palacio added four goals and eight assists from the midfield. Joining them on the first team were Anthony Castillo, Gaige Kellogg and Adrian Rosales.
Arcadia’s first-team selections included sophomore forward Adam Tomas-Raymundo, freshman midfielder Shabi Perez-Gonzalez and senior defender Diego Santos. Freshman Alex Juarez earned honorable mention recognition for the Firebirds.
In softball, Arcadia sophomore Ryann Giddins earned District Player of the Year honors after one of the most dominant seasons on the Eastern Shore. Giddins hit .600 with a .667 on-base percentage and a 1.145 slugging percentage while leading the Firebirds with 36 runs scored, 33 hits, 20 RBIs, 10 doubles, seven triples, two home runs and 13 stolen bases. In the pitching circle, she posted a 1.89 ERA.
Arcadia sophomore shortstop Brinlee Kauthen also turned in a standout campaign, batting .610 with 36 hits, 26 RBIs, five doubles, four triples and 11 stolen bases. Kauthen finished among the district leaders in batting average, hits and runs batted in.
The Firebirds placed seven players on the All-District First Team. Joining Giddins and Kauthen were second baseman Anslyn Greenwood, third baseman Kinsley Palmer, outfielder Megan Montross, outfielder Deeana Bradley and designated player Payton Taylor. Montross batted .408 and tied for the team lead with five doubles, while Taylor recorded a .476 on-base percentage, scored 22 runs, drove in 16 runs and posted a stellar .995 fielding percentage.
Other first-team softball selections included Nandua pitcher Lela Lusk, first baseman Amirrah Church and outfielder Jocelyn Vasquenza. Lusk anchored the Warriors’ pitching staff and recorded multiple double-digit strikeout performances during the season, including a 16-strikeout effort against Holly Grove. Church provided power in the middle of the lineup with multiple home runs and a four-RBI game, while Vasquenza contributed several extra-base hits throughout the season.
Northampton catcher Ryleigh Caison and Chincoteague pitcher Faith Stadler also earned first-team honors. Stadler led the Ponies with a .433 batting average, .528 on-base percentage and 26 hits while also driving in 11 runs. Fellow Chincoteague standout Rylee Giddings batted .377 with 23 hits and a team-leading 20 RBIs, while Virginia Sawyer added 14 RBIs, three doubles, three triples and the team’s lone home run of the season.
Softball honorable mention honors went to Arcadia senior Taylor Benedict, Chincoteague sophomore Cheyenne Britton, Nandua sophomore Corrin Burrell and Northampton sophomore Anna Temich.
Northampton junior Grace Smith was named the Girls Soccer District Player of the Year after helping guide the Yellow Jackets from her midfield position. While her impact extended beyond the scoresheet, Smith finished the season with three goals, two assists and eight points.
Northampton’s first-team selections also included freshman forward Amelie Rutschow, who emerged as one of the Shore’s top offensive players. Rutschow led the Yellow Jackets with 15 goals, three assists and 33 points, averaging 1.5 goals per match. Senior Jayda Collins added eight goals and 16 points, giving Northampton one of the district’s most productive attacking tandems.
Other Northampton first-team selections included Ava Seigrist, Irina Maksymyuk, Asbby Hernandez, Yoseline Palacio Panuco and goalkeeper Sofia Jaramilla.
Arcadia first-team selections included Estrella Juarez Roblero, Diana Gomez Hernandez, Berenice Cruz Gomez, Adriana Hernandez Gomez and Ruth Previus. Nandua was represented by Hayden McGee, America Valasquez and Liliana Yazez Valasquez.
Girls soccer honorable mention selections included Arcadia’s Areli Gonzalez Hernandez, Nandua’s Berenice Pichardo Hernandez and Northampton’s Hannah Lane.
In baseball, Nandua senior Hayden Williams was named District Player of the Year after excelling both on the mound and at the plate. Williams posted a 4-4 record with 96 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched and a 3.571 ERA. Offensively, he batted .415 with 22 hits, five doubles, two triples, three home runs and 19 RBIs.
Williams earned first-team honors as both a pitcher and first baseman. Other first-team selections from Nandua included Jordan Snead and Orion Loredo.
Arcadia’s first-team honorees were pitcher Dalton Barnes, catcher Dylan Chesser and shortstop BJ White. White put together one of the Shore’s top offensive seasons, batting .491 with a .576 on-base percentage, 27 hits, 28 runs scored, 25 stolen bases, five doubles and three triples. Barnes hit .358 with a .507 on-base percentage while adding 18 RBIs, 19 hits, five doubles and 12 stolen bases. Behind the plate, Chesser recorded a .956 fielding percentage while collecting 18 stolen bases, 19 runs scored and six doubles.
Northampton’s Trent Ferebee and Lucas Kindt were also first-team selections. Ferebee led the Eastern Shore District with a .510 batting average while adding 26 hits, 14 RBIs, seven doubles and 11 stolen bases. Kindt ranked among the district’s top hitters with a .360 average, 18 hits, 15 runs scored and a .940 fielding percentage.
Chincoteague also featured several top statistical performers on the first-team squad. Micah Bennicoff ranked among the district leaders with a .371 batting average, 23 hits and a team-best .452 slugging percentage. Owen Bloxom batted .364, led the Ponies with 24 hits and posted a district-best .980 fielding percentage. Jermaine Logan recorded a .500 on-base percentage, scored 17 runs and added a home run during the season.
Baseball honorable mention selections included Arcadia’s Larry Handy, who tied for the team lead with 18 RBIs, Chincoteague’s George Katsetos, who scored 21 runs and stole 14 bases, Nandua’s Ben Bonniwell and Northampton’s Hayden Seay.
