Central Accomack Little League Senior Girls Virginia State ChampionsThe Central Accomack Senior Softball team stole the lead late

and defeated Georgia 3-2 on Saturday at Salisbury N.C.   The game was tied at 2 with Central Accomack batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run for CALL.

Brianna Rucker doubled on a 1-2 count in the first inning driving in two runs. Georgia knotted the game at two in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hailey Berry was the winning pitcher for CALL allowing two hits and no runs over to and a third inningsstriking out two. Haylie Justice started for CALL allowing 3 hits and two runs over 4 and two thirds innings.

Jamie Wert and Brianna Rucker each had multiple hits. Wert went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Central Accomack.   Rucker had the most chances in the field, six.

Central Accomack played strong defensively with no errors.

In the boys game in Safety Harbor Florida Central Accomack took an early lead and never looked back.   The North Carolina team struggled both offensively and defensively the whole game giving up 8 runs. Cade Williams was the winning pitcher for CALL surrendering no runs on one hit over three and a third innings. Brandon Adamos and Everett Savage came from the bullpen to close out the shut out for the Eastern Shoremen.

CALL scattered 9 hits with Jake Meilhammer, Tyler Green and Armonte Dickerson having multi hit outings.   Meilhammer went 3 for 3. Luke Parks had 13 chances in the field.

The CALL boys take on the winner of the Florida Georgia game Sunday at approximately 12:45.
