Broadwater Academy opened its season with a hard-nosed 12–6 win over Kenston Forest in 8 man football action.
The Vikings got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Olson Pruitt powered in a 10-yard touchdown run.
With the clock melting away and the game tied 6-6, Broadwater’s quarterback Cohen Kellam found Eli Destro downfield for a 50-yard touchdown with 10 seconds remaining.
Quarterback Cohen Kellam led the passing attack, throwing for 134 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also added 15 rushing yards on the ground.
Olsen Pruitt carried the ball 10 times for 63 yards and scored once. He also recorded one reception.
Eli Destro made the most of his touches, breaking a 47-yard run for a touchdown and adding six tackles on defense.
Jacob Seltzer provided steady production with 17 carries for 71 yards, while also pulling in four receptions for 41 yards.
Izid Tountas anchored the defense with seven tackles, three assists, and a sack. He also added a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
Aiden Fuller was active in the secondary with five tackles, one assist, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.
Grayson Ross chipped in with three tackles, four assists, and one sack.
The Vikings return to action as they travel to Chincoteague on Thursday.
