The Broadwater Lady Vikings hosted Northampton on Friday afternoon and secured a dominant 21–0 win. Ramsey Revelle started on the mound and earned the victory, pitching five innings while allowing just one hit and striking out 12 batters. Anna Temich took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. Offensively, the Lady Vikings totaled 16 hits. Adrianna Holloway hit for the cycle, recording a single, double, triple, and home run. Kacey Ford also had a strong game, going 3-for-4 with a triple. Ryleigh Caison recorded the only hit for the Yellow Jackets. Broadwater improves to 7–1 on the season and will return to action Thursday as they host Chincoteague. Northampton falls to 0–5 and will travel to King & Queen on Tuesday.
The Chincoteague Lady Ponies traveled to Bennett on Friday and lost a close game, 2–1. Caitlyn McPherson started on the mound and was charged with the loss. She pitched six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out 10 batters. Offensively, the Lady Ponies were held to two hits—one each by McPherson and Anslyn Greenwood. Chincoteague falls to 2–3 on the season and will return to action Monday as they host Salisbury Christian.
Baseball
The Broadwater Vikings hosted Northampton on Friday and came away with a 14–4 win. Eli Destro got the start and earned the win, pitching five innings and allowing four unearned runs on two hits while striking out 10. H. Seay started for the Yellow Jackets and took the loss. The Vikings tallied 11 hits in the game. Aiden Fuller, Cohen Kellam, and Chris Ames each collected two hits. Northampton had two hits—one each from Brock Leland and H. Seay. Broadwater improves to 4-4-1 on the season and will return to action next Thursday against Chincoteague. The Yellow Jackets fall to 1–3 and will travel to King & Queen on Tuesday.
The Chincoteague Ponies traveled to Bennett on Friday and were shut out 15–0. Landon Easton got the start and took the loss, pitching three innings. Offensively, the Ponies were limited to two hits—one each by Bryce Luck and Owen Bloxom. Chincoteague falls to 2-2-1 on the season and will return to action Monday as they host Salisbury Christian.
The Nandua Warriors hosted Laurel on Friday and suffered an 11–1 loss. Austin Wert started on the mound and took the loss, pitching 3 1/3 innings and giving up eight runs (three earned) on three hits while striking out two. The Warriors managed just two hits. Jordan Snead went 1-for-2 with a home run, and Braeden Smith added a hit. Nandua falls to 3–2 on the season and will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Holly Grove.
