Softball
The Broadwater Lady Vikings hosted Fuqua on Monday afternoon in the first round of the state playoffs. The Lady Vikings fell by a score of 5–0. Ramsey Revelle started on the mound and took the loss, pitching a complete game, allowing six hits while striking out nine batters.
Offensively, the Lady Vikings were limited to four hits. Adrianna Holloway, Kacey Ford, Ramsey Revelle, and Ava Webb each recorded one hit.
The loss ends Broadwater’s season with an overall record of 18–4.
The Arcadia Lady Firebirds hosted Saints Peter and Paul on Monday afternoon and came away with a 7–2 win. Ryann Giddins earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete game while allowing two unearned runs on just one hit and striking out 16 batters.
Arcadia finished with six hits on the day. Giddins led the offense, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
The Lady Firebirds improve to 10–7 and will return to action Tuesday as they travel to Northampton.
The Nandua Lady Warriors traveled to Seaford on Monday and came up short in a high-scoring contest, falling 21–18. Kylie Killmon started on the mound and took the loss.
Nandua totaled six hits in the game. Peyton Truckner led the way, going 2-for-4 with a triple.
The Lady Warriors drop to 5–8 on the season and will return to action Tuesday when they host Chincoteague.
Baseball
The Broadwater Vikings traveled to face Walsingham in the first round of the state playoffs on Monday afternoon and were defeated 11–3. Eli Destro got the start and took the loss on the mound.
The Vikings tallied seven hits. Cohen Kellam led the offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Broadwater concludes the season with a 7–12–1 record.
