In high school football Saturday, the Broadwater Vikings avenged an earlier loss to the Chincoteague Ponies, defeating the Ponies 30-14.
The two teams met three weeks ago and the Ponies beat the Vikings 24-22 despite a last quarter come back effort by Broadwater. The game wasn’t originally scheduled but both teams had other opponents cancel their games Saturday, so it was decided to get both schools together for a rematch.
The win gave the Vikings a record of 3-2 with the Ponies being 1-3 for the season.
