Broadwater and Chincoteague battle to 15–15 tie; Lady Vikings roll to 13–0 softball win

The Broadwater Vikings traveled to face the Chincoteague Ponies on Wednesday afternoon. The game ended in a 15–15 tie after nine innings, called due to darkness. Both teams used multiple pitchers throughout the contest.

The Vikings had a strong offensive showing with 17 hits. Eli Destro led the way, going 4-for-4 with a home run. Owen Pruitt and Bennit Custis each recorded three hits, while Chris Ames, Cohen Kellam, and T. Wivell added two hits apiece.

The Vikings return to action on Thursday as they host Greenbrier Christian.

Chincoteague also delivered at the plate, finishing with 13 hits. Kent Reed led the Ponies, going 4-for-5 with a double. Garrett Daisey and Landon Easton each hit a home run, and Brice Luck collected three hits in the game.

The Ponies are scheduled to host Parkside on Friday.

Softball
The Broadwater Lady Vikings traveled to play the Chincoteague Lady Ponies on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 13–0 win. Ramsey Revelle earned the win on the mound, pitching six shutout innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out 14 batters.

Offensively, the Lady Vikings collected 14 hits. Miranda Smith had a standout performance, going 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and 4 RBIs. Adrianna Holloway and Carly Clayton each added two hits.

Broadwater improved to 3–0 on the season and will return to action Thursday at home against Greenbrier Christian.

The Lady Ponies started Caitlyn McPherson on the mound, who took the loss. Offensively, Chincoteague managed just one hit—a triple by Alyson Clark, who went 1-for-2.

The Lady Ponies are back in action Friday as they travel to Parkside.
