Arcadia sweeps John Marshall: Softball Tosses No-Hitter, Baseball Dominates 12–1

The Arcadia Lady Firebirds softball team traveled to play John Marshall on Monday afternoon and won by a score of 13–0. Ryann Giddins and Brinlee Kauthen combined for a no-hitter, striking out 13 batters between them.

Offensively, the Lady Firebirds recorded six hits. Giddins went 3-for-3 with a triple, while Kauthen went 2-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs.

The Lady Firebirds improve to 3–5 on the season and will return to action Tuesday as they host Salisbury Christian.

The Arcadia Firebirds baseball team also traveled to face John Marshall on Monday afternoon, earning a 12–1 victory. Dylan Chessar started on the mound and picked up the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit, and striking out 11 batters.

The Firebirds tallied 10 hits. Dalton Barnes went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple. Dylan Chessar went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, and Daniel Wallace went 2-for-2 with a double.

The Firebirds improve to 3–5 on the season and will return to action Tuesday at home against Salisbury Christian.
