Baseball
The Arcadia Firebirds baseball team traveled to face the Broadwater Vikings on Friday afternoon and came away with a 9–7 victory. Waylon Watson started on the mound for the Firebirds and received a no-decision. Zach Giddins pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out seven batters to earn the win. Teddy Seabolt took the loss for the Vikings.
Arcadia tallied 11 hits. Daniel Wallace went 3-for-4, while Dylan Chesser also had three hits, including a double. BJ White and Dalton Barnes each contributed two hits. Aiden Fuller led the Vikings, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Eli Destro added two hits for Broadwater.
The Firebirds improve to 7–6 on the season and will return to action Tuesday with a trip to Nandua. The Vikings fall to 7–9–1 and will resume play Thursday in the Metro Tournament.
Softball
The Broadwater Lady Vikings hosted the Arcadia Lady Firebirds on Friday and secured a 5–0 win. Ramsey Revelle started on the mound and earned the shutout victory, pitching seven innings, allowing no runs on three hits, and striking out eight batters. Ryann Giddins took the loss for Arcadia.
Broadwater collected nine hits in the game. Miranda Smith went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Revelle also went 2-for-3. Megan Montross led the Lady Firebirds at the plate, going 2-for-3.
The Lady Vikings improve to 17–2 on the season and will travel to Atlantic Shores on Thursday. The Lady Firebirds fall to 6–7 and will visit Nandua on Tuesday.
