Several Eastern Shore athletes earned top regional honors this spring as all-region teams were announced for baseball, softball, and boys soccer in Region 2A.
In baseball, Nandua’s Aiden McIntyre was named First Team All-Region as a pitcher. McIntyre turned in a dominant season, finishing with a 5-3 record over 56 2/3 innings. He allowed just 19 hits and eight earned runs while striking out 111 batters, compiling a 0.988 ERA and a .098 opponent batting average.
In boys soccer, Nandua High School had four players named to the First Team All-Region. Kevin Tinoco led the offense with 13 goals and 3 assists at striker, while midfielder Alex Plowden added 9 goals and 7 assists. Daniel Macca and Liam Aigner were recognized for their strong defensive contributions. On the Second Team, Nandua was represented by striker Daniel Rodriguez (8 goals, 6 assists), midfielder Danny Martinez (2 goals, 3 assists), and goalkeeper Armando Meneses, who was scored on just seven times all season. Head Coach Miguel Diaz was honored as Region 2A Coach of the Year for his leadership throughout the season.
On the softball diamond, Arcadia’s Ryann Giddins was named First Team All-Region pitcher. Giddins pitched 93 1/3 innings, posting a 5-2 record. She struck out 192 batters while only allowing 50 hits and 20 earned runs. She finished the season with a 1.50 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .146 average.
