Dear County Adminstrator Spuck; July 8, 2026
Hope you are well and had an enjoyable July 4th celebration.
Our core group which is dedicated to keeping the Mayors and Cuoncil members of the incorporated towns of Exmore, Nassawadiox, Eastville and Cheriton informed on the matter of the proposed Zoning Text Amendment has been informed that these town officials have been invited to meet with you at 10am on Thursday, June 9th at the Cuunty Administration Building in Eastville.
As you may know, over the last several months we have been attending Town Council monthly and special meetings of these towns, all of which were and continue to be open to all members of the public. Our goal was and continues to be to inform these elected and appointed leaders about the details of the ZTA that will affect these towns and their residents. we felt this outreach was necessary once we discovered that they have not been invited to be part of the 9-month process regarding drafting of his Town Edge text amendment.
After confering with several Town Managers and Mayors, we have decided that it would be prudent and indeed necessary for the four (4) of us to attend this 10 am July 9, 2026 meeting to monitor, record, and take notes on the information these town officials are being offered by the county. We are not attending to offer input or comment and promise that we will not in any shape or form disrupt or interrupt your meeting.
We simply feel that after our tireless efforts to educate the town leaders on this proposal-somehting the county failed to do even in spite of the fact that the 2020 Comprehensive plan directs them to do-that it is only prodent and fair that we observe and note what information is being given to these Mayors and Town Managers on this critical matter ensuring that the information is credible and verifiable.
We appreciate your understanding of our good-faith desire to keep all discussions on the Zoning Text Amendment fully transparent and publicly available and look forward to seeing you Thursday morning.
