Winter Storm Warning issued for Accomack County

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Accomack County.

According to the NWS, heavy mixed precipitation expected with total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches and ice accumulations up to a light glaze. Winds will gust as high as 30 mph.

The warning is in effect until 7 AM EST Tuesday.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Call 511 for road information.

The Wallops Island Meteorologists are predicting slightly higher snow fall amounts for the Eastern Shore. With 5-7″ for northern Accomack and 2-5 for lower Accomack and northern Northampton County.
