According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 10 am this morning. Another Wind Chill advisory in effect from 6 pm this evening to 10 am Saturday.
Very cold wind chills expected. the cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 5 below zero to 15 below zero for portions of southeast Maryland and eastern and southeast Virginia.
Winds gusting as high as 20 to 30 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow. Cold wind chills this morning and overnight tonight will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
