WESR will broadcast the Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore candidates Forums tonight and Wednesday night from Nandua High School.
Tonight’s debate will feature the local candidates from Accomack County.
Treasurer: Brandy Custis Childress and James A. Lilliston, Sr.
District 4 School Board: Connie C. Burford and Gary S. Reese
District 7 School Board: Thomas E. “TJ” Johnson III and Janet Martin-Turner
District 5 Supervisor: Harrison W. Phillips III and James D. Rich
District 7 Supervisor: Howard “Jackie” Phillips and Miriam E. “Tina” Riggs
Wednesday night will feature the candidates for the state Senate and the House of Delegates. Incumbent Senator Lynwood Lewis is being challenged by Elizabeth Lankford. Incumbent Rob Bloxom is being challenged by Phil Hernandez for the Eastern Shore’s House of Delegates seat.
CBES will also hold a forum for the one contested election in Northampton County on Thursday, October 17. Dixon Leatherbury and David Kabler will be facing off for the District 4 seat on the Board of Supervisors. The forum will be at Occohannock Elementary School and begins at 7:00 PM.
The forums will be broadcast on 103.3 FM WESR, ShoreDailyNews.com and the Eastern Shore Radio App. They will also be recorded and available on demand.
