As the temperature rises, primary roadways are passable but still wet and slushy. The Virginia State Police still reminds motorist to use caution if they must travel. As of 8:00 a.m., state police have responded to 193 incidents/activities statewide. Of those 193 incidents, Division 5/Chesapeake has responded to 19, 2 of those being property damage crashes.

Motorist are still reminded to ensure their vehicle is safe to drive, working lights for visibility, tire pressure, and tire tread. Ensure your windshield wipers are in good working order and have plenty of windshield wiper fluid. Please be mindful of your speed, and always be aware of emergency personnel in the roadway assisting other motorist.
