The Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred yesterday (Aug. 5, 2025) at approximately 5:41 p.m. on Route 13 in Northampton County.
A 2008 Ford F-150 was heading northbound on Route 13 near Cobbs Station Road when it went off of the right side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver of the F-150, Joseph L. Dunton, 61, of Cape Charles, Va., suffered serious injuries. Dunton succumbed to those injuries at an area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
