Virginia Tech Alumni Association announces Annual Oyster Roast

The Virginia Tech Alumni Association’s Eastern Shore chapter is inviting the community to its annual oyster roast on January 10 at 5:00 PM at the Eastern Shore Agricultural Research Center in Painter, with proceeds benefiting scholarships for Eastern Shore students.

Hunter Blake, an organizer, says only 200 tickets will be sold for the event. Early tickets are priced at $50, while tickets purchased at the door will be $80. Discounted tickets are available for current and future Virginia Tech students at $25, and children under 10 are admitted free. Each ticket includes all-you-can-eat oysters, barbecue, and refreshments.

Hard-copy tickets will be available through January 8 at Nutrien Ag locations in Keller and Eastville. In addition to ticket sales, sponsorship opportunities are also being offered to support the scholarship fund.

The event is hosted by the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, which says the oyster roast has become an annual tradition on the Eastern Shore, combining community gathering with direct support for local students pursuing higher education.
