Today is Democratic Primary Day in Virginia. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling places; local registrar’s offices will not be open for voting today.
While there are no local races on the ballot, the contest for Lieutenant Governor is crowded. Abigail Spanberger has already secured the Democratic nomination for Governor.
Voters will choose among the following candidates for Lieutenant Governor: Lamar Stoney, Babur Lateef, Aaron Rouse, Victor Segado, Ghazala Hashmi, and Alexander Bastani.
In the race for Attorney General, Shannon Taylor is challenging Jay Jones.
While WESR and ShoreDailyNews.com will not be covering results live, we plan to report total votes for each county on local news and Shore Daily News Wednesday morning.
