A tractor trailer carrying palettes of soda crashed off the southbound side of Route 13 Thursday morning. The call came into 911 communications at 9:15 AM.
The Virginia State Police responded to the crash. Ferebee’s Towing arrived on-scene and started the recovery process for the tractor trailer and called Moore’s Trucking Company due to the weight of the tractor trailer. While both companies were attempting to pull the tractor trailer out of the ditch, the trailer snapped in half causing Mountain Dew to come out of the vehicle. Both northbound & southbound lanes of Route 13 were closed at that time to recover the tractor trailer and VDO setup a detour. Traffic was detoured down Bayside road for several hours Thursday afternoon.
The scene was finally cleared late Thursday evening.
