
The Town of Parksley is participating in an effort to help the victims of Hurricane Helene.
According to a post on Facebook, those wishing to donate items including canned goods, clothing, sanitary supplies, dog and cat food, toiletries, diapers and baby wipes, just about any non perishable commodity you can drop off thru Saturday morning at the Dunne Avenue Village and Thrift and Saturday at the Parksley Farmers and Artisans Market, four tractor trailer have been provided to transport these products directly to those who need them.
Mayor Frank Russell said “We sit in our homes watching he disasters that unfolded this weekend in the Mountain regions of South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia, we should realize how incredibly blessed we are. Everybody get on board and lets show our neighbors they can count on people from the Eastern Shore.”
The Eastern Shore United Way is also accepting donations. They have set up a matching grant so that each dollar donated will be matched by an anonymous donor. Donations may be made on the Eastern Shore of Virginia United Way website. Be sure to include that you want the donation to go to Helene relief.
