brrrr cold

Today is  the winter solstice which is the  the shortest day of the year and the official first day of winter.  And  with that, the coldest weather of the season will arrive today and last until Tuesday.  The sunrise sill occur at 7:15 am. Today with sunset at 4:48 p.m.

The weather for the weekend will be very cold as well with highs near freezing on Sunday and lows Sunday night in the  upper teens.  While no measurable snow is predicted we may see a snow flurry or two on Sunday.  In order to prevent frozen pipes you should drip your faucets overn night tonight, Sunday and Monday nights.

As far as Christmas week is concerned temperatures should return to near normal on Christmas Eve and Christmas day with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s and lows in the mid to upper 30s.
