Today is the last opportunity voters will have to register to vote or change their registration before the November 5 election. Anyone wishing to vote after today will be issued a provisional ballot which will require proof of residence before being accepted. Voters will have to visit the registrars offices in Accomac and Eastville by 5:00 p.m. today to register.
Advance totals for both counties are lagging behind the 2020 votes cast in advance 23 days out from the election. In 2020, Accomack reported a total of 3824 in person and mail in. ballots had been cast. This year the total is 3323 down 14%.
Northampton is also lagging behind 2020. The total number of mail in and in person votes received 23 days out in 2020 was 2285. This year the total is 1850 which is down 20%.
