Three defendants pleaded guilty Thursday in Accomack Circuit Court to unrelated felony offenses.
Forty-seven-year-old Richard Liddle, a plumber who lives on Crane Court in Horntown, admitted to assaulting a police officer on April 30, 2024. Misdemeanor counts of obstruction of justice and public intoxication were not prosecuted.
According to court records, Accomack Deputy E. Solorzano responded to a report of an assault in progress involving a weapon. When the deputy arrived at the scene, he found Liddle yelling across his yard to the alleged victim. The defendant refused to be cuffed and hit the officer, the record stated. He was “ultimately tased which had no effect” before eventually being taken into custody. Liddle and the other man had been drinking together when Liddle allegedly strangled the victim. That charge was reduced to misdemeanor assault and battery. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5.
In another case, 44-year-old Latrell Rashawn Davis, of Woodland Drive in Onancock, pleaded guilty to illegally obtaining a credit card number on June 13, 2023. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5. A second identical charge and two misdemeanors were not prosecuted
Forty-six-year-old Heather Renee Scott, of Orchard Road in Berlin, Md., formerly of Parksley, pleaded guilty to distributing a Schedule I or II drug as an accommodation, which is still a felony but a lesser offense than the initial charge of selling the drug.
The crime was committed on Dec. 20, 2023. Scott was sentenced to three years in prison with all but time served suspended. Two charges of selling illegal drugs in February 2024 were not prosecuted.
