A 14-year-old has been charged with threatening a school on Virginia’s Tangier Island.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report on March 13 that a student at Tangier Combined School had made threats to shoot up the school.

An investigation led to the teen being charged with threats to commit serious bodily harm to person on school property and threat to bomb or burn a building.

According to the sheriff’s office, the teen was taken to the Norfolk Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
