A 35-year-old Tangier Island man pleaded guilty Thursday in Accomack Circuit Court to felony and misdemeanor charges from earlier this year.
Travis R. Marshall, of Garman Lane, admitted to committing felony counts of possessing cocaine, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and buying or receiving stolen goods valued at more than $1,000. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of having consensual sex with a child older than 15.
Marshall was also charged with selling cocaine and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Those two crimes were not prosecuted. Sentencing was set for Jan. 9.
In another case, 38-year-old Christopher Tazewell of Battle Point Road, in Exmore, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated. Police found him exiting a vehicle after crashing it into a tree on July 15, 2023. He was sentenced to three years in prison with a year suspended. He will be on supervised probation for three years upon release.
