Police and units from the Bloxom Fire Company responded on Saturday October 7. When they arrived they found a car belonging to Angela Taylor, the Hallwood Town Clerk, ablaze. In the car were all of the towns financial records.

Before the fire, Taylor had been ordered to submit the books for an audit after several years of not having one. According to the story, Taylor said she loaded the books in the car to take them to Oak Hall for the audit but they never made it.

Gone are years of records involving delinquent tax information, information on the towns finances.
