Investigators with the State Police say a 32 year old Guildford man is dead after swerving into the path of a box truck Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at 8:29 AM on Saxis Road at the Will Fisher Road intersection. The driver of a 2003 Ford Explorer, Adam Eugene Godwin, was traveling west on Saxis Road when he crossed double solid lines into oncoming traffic and into the path of a 2000 Mitsubishi box truck. The box truck was driven by 82 year old Elize Lee Jacobs of Temperanceville. Upon striking the box truck head on, the truck was pushed into the ditch, and the Explorer spun out in the roadway.
Jacobs was not injured in the crash. Godwin died upon impact and was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
It is still unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor.
