It’s a sure sign spring is at hand. Daylight Savings Time will take effect at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Residents should set their clocks ahead one hour before going to bed tonight.

The Accomack County Department of Emergency Services advises residents to replace the batteries in their smoke detectors this weekend.   Smoke detectors save countless lives each year but need batteries to be replaced every six months to guarantee they will work when needed.   Change those batteries and “spring forward” tonight before going to bed.
