Spring burning restrictions are now in place. The restrictions went into effect on February 15 and will continue until April 30.   Burning is banned within 300 ft. of woods lands   and grassy fields until 4 p.m. each day.   The Virginia Department of Forestry reports that burning of debris is the leading cause of forest fires.   Dry grass from winter kill and debris in wooded areas are dry in this time of year and very combustible.
