The Eastern Shore may see it’s first snow over the next 24 hours but it’s not a certainty yet. Some models predict a little over an inch of snow for Accomack County , a wintery mix in northern Northampton and rain over southern Northampton. However it’s far from certain if anyone will see accumulating snow but just in case, VDOT trucks were out Friday treating Rt. 13. As often is the case, the rain snow line is predicted to move across southeastern Virginia.

As of Friday afternoon the National Weather Service called for a wintery mix over both counties with little or no accumulation. Accuweather says that there’s a 30% chance of snow accumulating over 2 inches. Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing Saturday night and rise to around 40 on Sunday. If there is any accumulation, it will be short lived.
