The Salvation Army Accomack County Service Unit is thanking the Eastern Shore community for its generous support during the 2025 Red Kettle Campaign, which serves as the organization’s primary local fundraiser.
Leah Trader, president of the Accomack County Service Unit, said the campaign plays a critical role in supporting residents in need across the Shore. She noted that 100 percent of the funds raised through the Red Kettle Campaign remain in Accomack County and are used exclusively to assist local citizens.
The service unit also expressed appreciation to area businesses that hosted bell ringers throughout the campaign. Participating locations included Walmart, Roses, and Food Lion in Onley, as well as Off The Rails in Parksley.
Special recognition was given to the volunteer bell ringers who stood outside in cold, windy, and rainy conditions to help make the 2025 campaign a success. According to the service unit, most of the bell ringers are volunteers who choose to participate as a way of giving back to their community.
Trader said the continued support from donors, volunteers, and local businesses helps ensure the Salvation Army can provide assistance to individuals and families in need throughout the year in Accomack County.
