Rumors swirl about loud booms heard around Onancock, no reports filed

There have been rumors spread on Facebook of a loud noise at approximately 4:45 Thursday in the Onancock area. 

After contacting the Onancock Town office and the Accomack County Sheriff’s Department, no one reported the alleged noise to either entity.

Onancock Town Manager acknowledged he had heard the rumors, but said no official inquiry was made.

There were also some reports of a second loud boom in Onancock around 12:30 Friday.
