Prison terms and deferred judgment

A Parksley man was sentenced Monday in Accomack Circuit Court to 10 years in prison for a 2025 burglary in Onley.

Thirty-six-year-old Antonio Orlando Flores, of Seaside Road, was previously convicted of breaking into the home of Kevin Lewis Thomas on Jan. 2, 2025. All but a year and nine months of the term were suspended, and exceeded the prosecutor’s request by three months.

Flores was previously convicted of nine felonies. The offenses were not listed in open court. Records showed seven of those were for grand larceny and were resolved in 2012, when Flores was about 23.

Thirty-three-year-old Jahquan Ezekiel Meekins, also known as Glenn Lordjahquan E.C. Wallace, of Richmond, was sentenced to five years in prison with all but the two years of mandatory time suspended for possession of a gun by a felon on May 14, 2025. A charge of receiving a stolen firearm or aiding in concealing a gun was not prosecuted. When released, Meekins will be on two years of supervision and five years of good behavior.

Judgment was deferred for a year for 35-year-old Curtis Nock Jr., of Brook Lane in Melfa. Nock was charged with a May 24, 2025, count of unlawful wounding. Nock entered an Alford plea, which means he admits there was enough evidence to convict him. The victim was Cory Ames, of Killmontown Road near Melfa.

Ames was inebriated when Nock was cleaning up trash at the property. He told Nock that he was not permitted to take a dishwasher and dryer from there. In the end, Ames was pushed to the ground. His arm was injured, and he required about 10 stitches.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney William Fox said there was a dispute at a preliminary hearing about “exactly what happened.” The prosecutor contended, “There was an assault here.”
