CAPE CHARLES, V.A.– Preserve Communities welcomes Bay Creek into its portfolio of purposefully crafted lifestyle communities. With a vision of expanding Bay Creek’s outstanding reputation, the re-imagination promises a multi-generational community perfect for a diverse set of homebuyers, from those passionate about golf and outdoor activities year-round to those looking to trade city life for the perfect beach town in Cape Charles. Along with the improvement and introduction of world-class amenities and lifestyle programming, will be a keen focus on preserving the beauty of the Eastern Shore and deepening the connection to Cape Charles and the Bay.
“Our guiding principle at Preserve Communities is thoughtful development. We strive to create purposeful and highly desired communities by carefully considering the long-term influence of land use, amenities, architecture, and operations where owners, members, and guests live well and thrive,” says Matt Hagler, Vice President Preserve Clubs & Resorts. “Bay Creek’s location on Virginia’s Cape and to the town of Cape Charles is quite unique. We’re going to re-imagine the community by interacting and activating the beautiful nature, stunning and seemingly endless waterfront, and the charm of the city emerging here.”
The re-imagination will begin immediately and will include the improvement and introduction of state-of-the-art amenities, active lifestyle programming, and of course, the world-class golf experience.
- State-of-the-Art Amenities: The promise of a holistic lifestyle full of adventure and relaxation will be delivered through a combination of new and revitalized amenities. Construction is set to begin immediately on a new beach club, an incredible design that fulfills the original intended setting of this signature amenity. Built along the dunes overlooking our beaches and the Bay, the beach club is planned for dining and entertainment options, while just below, the natural coves from the Chesapeake will shape beaches designated for water activities, kid-friendly programming, quiet relaxation, and more. The Coach House will undergo extensive renovations to enhance dining, event, and entertainment opportunities. The current beach cub facility will be transformed into a full Health and Wellness Center, offering diverse fitness programming and kids’ activities.
- Active Lifestyle Programming: Bay Creek’s location on the Eastern Shore offers the unique opportunity to deliver an unmatched active lifestyle. Plantation Creek, which winds itself through the community, will become an outdoor hub connecting homeowners to the beautiful nature of Cape Charles. It will include walking trails and local gardens to water activity programming, such as kayaking and canoeing.
- World Class Golf:The Bay Creek Golf Club currently includes two distinguished courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, respectively. Changes to the golf course will begin in November with the closure of the back nine holes on the Nicklaus course. Plans are for Bay Creek to re-open in the spring, as a 27-hole golf club comprised of the original Palmer 18-holes and the front 9-holes of the Nicklaus course. The significant change to the golf courses will deliver the best golf experience for the membership, offering positives such as, improved overall course conditioning, sensible capacity utilization, and more efficient use of resources.
Preserve Communities’ new vision of Bay Creek is aided by the support of IMI Worldwide Properties. The two will team-up to establish the community as the premium destination for living and vacationing on Virginia’s Cape.
“Virginia’s Cape is one of the most beautiful and bountiful beachfront regions in the country. With its uniquely East Coast appeal, the area bridges the best of many worlds – nature and wildlife, and the quiet tranquility of private beaches on the Chesapeake Bay, all within an hour’s drive to Virginia’s Tidewater Peninsula and 4.5 hours to Washington DC,” says Dan Collins, Founding Partner and Chief Marketing Officer of IMI Worldwide Properties. “We’re going to take coastal living to a whole new level, unparalleled and unseen before in the region.”
