Precision sounding rockets to be launched at Wallops this week

NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia is set to launch a series of precision sounding rockets during a window from May 11 through May 18, 2025.

Officials have announced that there will be no real-time status updates, livestream coverage, or countdown information released to the public. However, the launch may be visible to residents in the Chesapeake Bay region, weather permitting.

The mission is part of ongoing research and development efforts at Wallops, where sounding rockets are routinely used for scientific experiments and technology testing in suborbital space.
