Heat and humidity finally gave way to fall like weather Saturday just in time for the second annual Golden Spike Festival in downtown Parksley.  A large crowd spent the day enjoying the events of the day.  The crowd enjoyed live music, food and even a zip line.  The event began in 2018 to attract visitors to Parksley. It is hoped that the new Eastern Shore Public Library will be completed in time for next year’s event.

Parksley recently received a $700,000 grant for downtown improvement.

2020 should be banner year for Parksley with a much improved downtown shopping area developing throughout the year.
