According to Maryland State Police, the 19 year old who was killed early Tuesday morning in a car accident on Route 13 in Princess Anne was identified as Courtaga Antrice Duncan.
Sgt. Mark White with the State Police confirmed to ShoreDailyNews.com Tuesday afternoon that Duncan, who is from Quail Lane in Painter, has been transported to the medical examiners office in Baltimore for a full autopsy.
WBOC TV reported the crash happened around 1:30 Tuesday morning on Rt. 13 at Stewart Neck Road. Police said troopers patrolling the area came across a car that had driven off the roadway and crashed into the heavily wooded center median of Rt. 13.
Police said their investigation found a white Dodge Magnum was traveling southbound on Rt. 13 when, for an undetermined reason, left the roadway and struck the heavily wooded portion of the center median. According to Sgt. White, the officer on duty noted there were no skid marks where the car left the roadway.
Police said she was the only person in the car and was dead when they arrived.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office notified Duncan’s family Tuesday morning.
A crash reconstruction officer was at the scene Tuesday morning, but the cause of the accident won’t be determined until the completion of the autopsy.
