Onancock Main Street (OMS) is pleased to announce that Maggie Grant has been hired as the Onancock Main Street Program Manager. Her first day was March 3, 2025.
The OMS Program Manager is a critical team member who manages the administration, general responsibilities, and day-to-day activities of OMS initiatives. Grant will work closely with OMS board and committees, Onancock business owners and managers, town government and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategies, and gain support, for downtown preservation and revitalization efforts. The position is part-time.
Originally from Richmond, VA, Grant has lived in several places, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, the US Virgin Islands, and Gainesville, GA. She moved to Onancock in 2019.
“Since moving here, many of my jobs have overlapped, but all have had a common theme of hospitality, marketing, and promoting the Eastern Shore of Virginia, with a focus on Onancock,” said Grant. “I hope to bring new ideas, while also preserving and promoting the small-town charm that attracted me to Onancock.”
Grant holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Temple University, Philadelphia, and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ. She is a licensed realtor and has worked in various roles including teaching, supervising college residence halls, coordinating fundraising events, as well as hotel and property management. Most recently, she has created social media content for local businesses.
Grant lives in Onancock with her husband and three-year-old daughter. They enjoy dancing to live music in town, visiting the farmer’s market, and hanging out at the Historic Onancock School playground.
“Maggie’s background comprises a unique set of transferable skills which will benefit not just OMS, but all of Onancock,” said Lisa Fiege, president, OMS. “She shares our passion for our town, and we are thrilled she has agreed to join our team.”
Grant will work from the new OMS office at 38 Market Street, Onancock.
